Architecture Studios
The department undertook a multi-year project of redesigning and renovating all of the architecture studio spaces that provided dedicated desks and workspace for more than 400 students across three floors of a historic building. Desks, worktables, and storage furniture were iteratively prototyped and field tested with students and faculty over multiple semesters.
As the Fabrication Shop Manager, I was integral in the design and prototyping process, and then led the team of student workers in the renovation project. We utilized our 3-axis CNC routers to make all of the plywood components for the furniture, and coordinated with a local metal fabricator for the desk legs and metal frames for storage cabinets.
